Do I need to be an advanced collector to join the stamp club? 

No, everyone is invited to join the club from the novice collector to the advanced collector.

I inherited a stamp collection. What is it worth? 

In the United States, the "Scott Catalog" is the reference for values of worldwide stamps. Many major libraries have copies of these catalogs. In 2026, the minimum catalog price is twenty-five cents. Does that mean each stamp is worth $ .25? Sadly, no. Bring your collection to a club meeting and learn the basics of stamp collecting and talk over possibilities of what to do with your new collection. You can donate your collection to the club. Is eBay a good place to track stamp prices? 

Not always. It is not uncommon to see a single "damaged" U.S. stamp listed on eBay as "rare" with an asking price of $2,000. If those asking prices reflected actual value, even a modest collection could be worth billions of dollars. A better approach is to check eBay's "Sold" listings to see what similar stamps have actually sold for. Even then, prices can vary widely. Ultimately, a stamp is worth only what a buyer is willing to pay at a given time.

My child has expressed interest in stamps. Are you a kid friendly club?

During the course of a year there is at least one stamp show in the area hosting a "Beginner's Room" where kids are encouraged to join the stamp collecting community. They will even get some stamps for FREE.
